S4 Ep. 1: What is Christology?

What is Christology? Why is it important? Who we believe Jesus to be is a complicated topic when we consider the entire breadth of history. Today we are looking at the New Testament Gospels (and some other ones) to see how the views of who Jesus was differed between these books and why it matters. Christology is something we all have whether we realize it or not.

Definitions:

Christology- “Christian reflection, teaching, and doctrine concerning Jesus of Nazareth. Christology is the part of theology that is concerned with the nature and work of Jesus, including such matters as the Incarnation, the Resurrection, and his human and divine natures and their relationship.” (Britannica)


Metaphysics- "the branch of philosophy that deals with the first principles of things, including abstract concepts such as being, knowing, substance, cause, identity, time, and space." (Oxford Dictionary)
